No previous dance experience needed! Learn how to stretch and work the different muscles in your body. 
Release tension and have fun with your friends. Wear something comfortable that you can move in.

CLASS SUMMARY:

In this series we’ll introduce you to the basic moves, and the various props
you can use to accent your moves: veils, canes/sticks, skirts

Class #1  Slithering 101
Intro: costume discussion
Finding your balance, sultry moves
Prop: veils

Class #2   Hearing the rhythm, Playing with sticks
basic moves, hip work, shimmies
Prop: sticks
Review:  Chest & torso work

Class #3  Beautiful arms!
More veil work, arm & hand moves,
Review:  balady

Class #4   Fun with skirts
Prop:  full circle or tiered skirts
Review: playing with sticks

Class #5 Review (by request)
We’ll go back over whatever the class is having the most difficulty with.

Class #6 Dance Party!
By tradition, the last class is a chance to relax and play with your friends
Using all you’ve learned.  Dress up and bring snacks to munch on!
